So...

So you worship a man who came back from the dead (like a zombie)
by ritualistically committing symbolic cannibalism?

Dungeon Master: Fan Made.

Dark Portal by Sophia
(I had to make a screen shot when I found that last door.)

My husband and I used to play Dungeon Master on our Amiga back in the 80's when we first started living together and I love to go back and play it though now and then for sentimental reasons. I never liked Chaos Strikes Back that much, too much chaos and stress for my liking but I had a great time playing Dungeon Master II: The Legend of Skullkeep. Theron's Quest is very simple (solution vise) compared to the others, IMO, but I shouldn't complain since it could always be worse.

Then a couple of weeks ago my son introduced me to the Fan Made Clones and Custom Dungeons. I'm in heaven! =) Sure, there are bugs and some hints are so insane that there is no way of figuring them out without a bit of help (or more), but I still love it. Dark Portal was the first custom dungeon that I solved and I love the puzzle solving style of it. <3 The greatest thing of all is that it's a "mother and son" project since I'm competing with my son when I play.
... and people say that game playing alienate family members form each other. *shakes head*

Make your mother proud!

Yesterday I went to a concert that made me all sentimental and tear eyed. My youngest son rocked the crowd, dragged them with him and made them all leave the concert with happy and satisfied smiles on their faces. Fuck Yeah!!! I've raised him well and now I'm seeing the results. =)

So old...

I read an article about email and how it is on it's way to die out. We've had email for about 20 years and it will be too old fashioned for people as little as 10 years from now. We live in a society that doesn't have the time to wait for anything and those extra seconds it takes for a mail to go from mail box to mail box is too much, people want instant results. People 10 years from now will mainly use IM, text messages, chat and possibly new forms of communication that's instant too. It is already happening, the article concluded, even today it's mainly old people who use email.

I use email only, and now I feel old... so old.

I dislike being stuck in a conversation waiting for the other person to speak. I'm the kind of person who multi tasks and I find it very stressful to be stuck doing one thing only. I don't like talking on the phone either for the same basic reason, though I can do more when I'm on the phone since I can walk around with the phone and clean the house, water flowers and other things like that. With IM I'm stuck at the computer, I can't carry a lap top around with me while doing things and the messages flows too fast for me to get into doing something else on the computer, as soon as I focus and start to work on something there is a message calling for my attention. If I don't answer immediately then there will be a series of IM messages saying "where did you go?" and "are you still there?". Yes, I'm still there and it has only been 30 seconds since you sent the first message, I'm reading and I'm typing, such things takes time, or at least it does for me. By the time I've typed my message down, spell checked it, proof read it and edited the errors; I have a long row of messages from the other person waiting for me. I don't like stress and after one of those hysteric conversations where I didn't have a clue what were talking about because of the stress... I deleted the whole IM thingy and I've never gone back.

... so old.

People who live with too much stress in their lives have shorter lives than those who take it easy. I guess I have to accept feeling old for a long time to come. ;o)

Fragile...

I'm watching my best friend fall apart because of something that her no-good-for-nothing husband has done. She's usually a rock but right now she's so fragile that it scares me. I came across this image when searching for something else and it made me think of her and the situation she's in. I can't find the origin or the image and who made it, but I'd love to find the source of it.

Something I wrote...

I got the idea to write something more experimental, something I haven't tried out before and the result is "Two Sides". The story is first told as it is experienced by Wiley Walker, a man that is searching for his brother. There are other levels to the story though, things he doesn't know and things that he never finds out. The second part is the story told as it is seen by Jezebel Jesse and the reader get to follow many of the things that was happening around Wiley Walker, things that he never knew of or understood.
The area is experiencing a heat wave and Wiley that's a rather level headed man blames the heat for the strangeness and the hallucinations that he has. The women are strange, the men warns him and tells him to leave and talks about witches and there is something in the shadows...

Two Sides (1) Wiley Walker (13285 words, 17 chapters.)
Two Sides (2) Jezebel Jesse (13689 words, 17 chapters.)
