Lordi - Bite it Like a Bulldog

Sentimental monster rock for me. It feels like yesterday but it's been 9 years since their first album. I kept playing "The Devil is a Loser"  while hammering my way through my favourite chat room.In 2006 I sort of lost interest in them. How metal are you truly if you win the Eurovision Song Contest. ABBA is among the winners for fucks sake!
Well, I stumbled over them again and I don't know if it's because I'm sentimental or if they are truly worthy to listen to, but here they are:

MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube channel and their HomePage.

Mikirurka - Eat Some Meal

MySpace, YouTube channel and their HomePage.
Mikirurka is a Polish band with a "quirky" mixed style of rock 'n roll. The video for Ain't no harm is also note worthy. Funny, and best of all is that they save the cactus. =)

Strange Karma - America

Fuck Yeah! I'm in love and I openly admit that I'm cheating on Stone Dözer by getting me some Strange Karma infusions now and then. If you like their music have a look at this page: http://strangekarma.net/buy/ that lists where you can buy some Karma of your own.

The Worshyp - Never Afraid

MySpace, FaceBook, ReverbNation and YouTube channel

The \W/orshyp are fast metallic metal with an attitude. My pick of video is based on something else though. I simply love the artistic touch it has.

Stone Dözer album release!

Today is the day I've been waiting for. I'm not at home and I can't look up any more information than this and I hope there has been no delays. Hopefully they announce where we can buy it on their FaceBook page as soon as possible.

Stone Dözer- Home Sweet Hell - Lyrics

A scrumbled frame,
A pain inflicting picture,
The past is gone,
Nothing but a scapegoat,

We get down to seek heaven
Then get high and find hell,
Cause this blade of contradiction
Now is deep inside your head,
In the path you´ll get so much pain,
Blowing all your hopes away,
If you trip, you better stand up,

Save me,
From this curse,
You know what I've been through,
Save me,
From my own head,
Nothing will be the same
In this home sweet hell.

The game is over,
no more Mr. Asshole,
Something has changed,
You´re nothing but my ex-bitch

We get down to seek heaven
Then get high and find hell,
Cause this blade of contradiction
Now is deep inside your head,
In the path you´ll get so much pain,
Blowing all your hopes away,
If you trip, you better stand up,

Save me,
From this curse,
You know what I've been through,
Save me,
From my own head,
Nothing will be the same
In this home sweet hell.

Haddonfield1963 - Sound of Silence

Myspace and a YouTube channel with their music, not an official channel though. Another Swedish band that's worth keeping an eye on. The current information about them is minimal and I hope they will provide more in the future.

Vacation time again.

I'm going on a vacation again. This time I hope to arrive back home fully rested and full of energy again. (One can always hope.) I have huge stacks with music I want to share and I've decided to use scheduled posting to rid of some of it while I'm gone. Except lots of music and little else from me for the coming weeks.

Strange Karma...

I'm a vivid dreamer and every morning when I wake up I spend a moment in amazement over what I've come up with while sleeping. During the night I dreamt of a band where the singer had a very special voice ("Gillan like" is the best I can describe it) and (not so uniquely) dark curly hair. In the dream the band had problems with a manager and they were looking for a bass player.  The same morning I open my mail and find a message from Strange Karma. To my great surprise I find that Martin Strange the singer in Strange Karma fit the description. Reading the band's BIO I find that their manager suffered a stroke in 2010 and they they have found a new bass player to replace the one that quit.

I don't know about karma but it is strange...

Now listen to this:

MySpace, FaceBook, HomePage and YouTube channel.
The band originates in Australia, relocated to the UK for a while and if I understand it correctly they are now based in the US. Edit: I got a message from the band, they are in Australia but hope to get to the US as soon as possible.

Heroic Women

Two campers on the other side of the lake from the island of Utøya, where the Norwegian massacre happened, heard gunfire and screams while they were eating their supper. Without thought for their personal safety, they took their boat and crossed towards the firing. Bullets hit the boat, but they pulled the fleeing youngsters from the water and crossed back and forth repeatedly.
Source. Guardian UK.
Two women, two of many heroes that day. Why have I never heard of them before even though I've read all I can find on the topic? Probably because they are married. A lesbian couple don't fit the general idea of "heroes" and might even be too uncomfortable to speak of for some. Now the news is going viral. I hope that people one day will learn to understand a basic fact. People are people. No matter what your lifestyle is you'll always be just as human and humane as the next person.

NASA's Zero Gravity Pen

When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered the ballpoint pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 Billion to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300C.
The Russians used a pencil.
One more funny thing that's ... well not really true.
Let's first remember that the NASA budget in the 1960 was $500 million and in 1965 it was $5.2 billion. They simply didn't have the $12 billion claimed in the joke.
NASA did not spend any money at developing the pen at all, the only money they spent on it was to buy it.

The Fisher Space Pen Company did on the other hand spend millions of dollars on developing the pen. American and Russian astronauts still us the pens and you can buy one of your own if you like. Here, the price tag is $50.

Steelwing - The Illusion

Steelwing at MySpace and FaceBook, they don't have an YouTube Channel but can be found through a search. The band is heading for a studio now and plans the release of a new album in early 2012.

Stone Dözer anounces the release of their album today!

Stone Dözer have announced the release of their first album
"Long Live the Kïng" at August 17.

Revenge

Beneath betrayal I still remain
Through years of constant sorrow
My will is higher than before
I live for my tomorrow

No, I´m stronger than before

Revenge is mine,
I´m gonna take what belongs to me,
Revenge is mine,
I´m gonna take what you took from me

Inside my head there´s nothn´ but fire,
Contemplation is in the past
Take the hand that will take you higher
You should be the fuckn´ best.

No, I´m stronger than before

Revenge is mine,
I´m gonna take what belongs to me,
Revenge is mine,
I´m gonna take what you took from me

Inside our veins there is just metal,
No matter what they say,
Don´t loose you hope,
Don´t loose your breath
Or you´ll live just for the day

Don´t loose you way

They point their finger,
They chase your way,
You know what is about,
Just higher your life,
With balls of steel,
We´re raising from the grave,

Don´t loose your way

Loose your way...

No, I´m stronger than before

Revenge is mine,
I´m gonna take what belongs to me,
Revenge is mine,
I´m gonna take what you took from me

How was I supposed to know?

"The inner city is closed down," I told him as we got into the car.

"I know," he replied.

Noticing that he was driving in the direction of the inner city I felt the need to remind him again. "The inner city is closed for traffic because of the festival."

"I know that," he sighed. "I read about it in the paper."

He kept on driving and I poked around with the car stereo. When I looked up I noticed that he was slowly turning towards the lane leading into the inner city.

"The inner city is closed down," I reminded him once again.

"I know!" He snapped and then he turned into the inner city.

Five minutes later we are slowly rolling through the over crowded streets leading around the inner city. Even toddlers could walk faster than the traffic was moving.

"Why are we going this way?" I just had to ask because I saw no reason for us being there.

"This way is the fastest," he replies instantly.

"This is not fast in my eyes."

"How was I supposed to know that the traffic was jammed?" he growled.

... ah ... well ...

Van Canto - Kings of Metal (Manowar cover)

A Capella Metal.
I didn't think it would be worth the listen when I first hear of it. I was wrong. 5 singers and a drummer, that's it, no other instruments. The "guitar" solos are pretty amazing. The German band formed in 2006 and they have 3 albums out. Links to their MySpace, YouTube channel and official homepage.
